produces is a draft or a reference for review by a qualified lawyer.

## What it does

- **Evidence processing**: PDF, DOCX, images (OCR), audio and video
  (transcription). Text is extracted, summarized and indexed for retrieval.
- **Case timeline**: events are pulled from the evidence with dates, sources and
  a note of which are inferred rather than stated.
- **Contradiction detection**: flags where two pieces of evidence tell different
  stories about the same moment.
- **Legal research**: searches official sources by jurisdiction — 국가법령정보센터
  (KR), CourtListener and Congress.gov (US), EUR-Lex (EU), Gesetze im Internet
  (DE), legislation.gov.uk (UK), e-Gov (JP).
- **Document drafting**: complaints, statements and briefs, with an exhibit
  index and jurisdiction-appropriate labelling.
- **Lawyer brief**: a shareable summary written for the attorney who will take
  the case — issues, parties, evidence index, open questions.

## Data handling

Case data is processed through Google Vertex AI, whose terms prohibit training
on customer data; audio transcription uses OpenAI Whisper and OCR uses Google
Document AI. Case documents are never sent to external search providers — only
the search query is. Setting a case encryption password encrypts evidence
contents client-side, after which Kurzly cannot read them. Details in the
