Delete your Kurzly account

You can delete your account and its data yourself, in the app or on the web. This page explains how, what is deleted, and what is kept.

Delete it yourself, in the app or on the web

  1. Sign in to the Kurzly app or to kurzly.net.
  2. Open "Account" from the sidebar or your profile menu.
  3. At the bottom, under "Delete Account", choose "Delete Account" and confirm with "Yes, delete my account".
  4. Deletion starts immediately and cannot be undone.

If you have a subscription, cancel it first

  • A subscription bought on the web is cancelled on the "Billing" page. While one is active, the delete button asks you to cancel it first.
  • A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel it in your device’s App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Can’t sign in? Ask us by email

  • Email privacy@kurzly.net from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
  • We check that the request comes from the account holder, then delete the account without undue delay. We may reply to confirm.

Delete a single case instead

  • Open the case and choose "Delete Case" from its ⋯ menu. The case is deleted with its evidence files, analyses, chats and share links.

What is deleted

  • Your account and sign-in, profile and settings
  • Every case you own, with its evidence files, analyses, timelines, chats, documents and share links
  • Files you uploaded, including files you added to other people’s cases as a collaborator
  • Usage records, feedback you sent, your Gmail connection, our copy of your billing status, and the record of emails sent to your address

What is kept, and for how long

  • Encrypted backups kept for disaster recovery are overwritten on a rolling basis; deleted data is gone from them within about 98 days.
  • Payment records are kept by our payment processor (Stripe), or by Apple or Google, under their own policies and tax law. We never store full card numbers.
  • Cases you were invited to stay with their owner. Your name and email may remain in that case’s member list and in messages you wrote there.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep is kept only for as long as the law requires.
